▪ Pop’s Place
▪ 511 S. Kings Highway, Myrtle Beach, 843-448-6033
Pop’s Place is situated in a good location to keep regulars coming by yearround, and tourists to find them on a nice close walk from Ocean Boulevard. It’s a smoking establishment that also has a nice outside deck with cornhole and colorful picnic tables to sit at. Music plays outside, as well. Inside, there’s pool, darts, video golf, putt-putt, and karaoke seven nights a week. The singing begins at 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Don’t miss the kitchen which touts the “Best Burgers in Town,” but also provides wings, Philly cheesesteaks, quesadillas and more. The biker-friendly establishment offers canned buckets of beer for $10.25 and bottled beer buckets for $12. Swing by for Happy Hour from 4-8 p.m. where all house liquor drinks are $3.
Voted the Best Local and Tourist Bar in 2013 by The Sun News readers, there are a great variety of modern and older songs to choose from in the karaoke selection. The bar features only hightop seats, so there’s always comfort to hop on and off the dance floor. There is a nice-sized parking lot, and many of the local patrons get to know each other by name because it’s a place most people find themselves going to again and again. Ask the bartender how to get your name on a ceiling tile!
