THE LOWDOWN

Danny Lee’s holds the anchor spot of a small strip mall on S.C. 707. The reverse L-shaped bar wraps around a full-service kitchen and is surrounded by two pool tables, low-level and high-top seating, plenty of flat screen TVs, a TV projector for major sporting events, a stage for karaoke five nights a week, and plenty of games to play, including darts, bowling, golf and a jukebox. Their Happy Hour is 4-7 p.m. daily with $1.50 cans and $2 domestic bottles, with $2.50 well drinks all day. The real treat is knowing the reduced or free food specials, which includes all you can eat tacos on Tuesday (with two drink purchase), reduced priced appetizers on Wednesday and free food on Sundays when there is a race on TV.

TIPS The food is the key at Danny Lee’s with a baby back rib dinner on Fridays, hamburger steak on Saturdays and “the best deal in town” — steak night on Thursday. The bar advises patrons to get to Danny Lee’s as close to 5 p.m. on Thursdays to ensure an $11 meal, which includes a 12-ounce steak, baked potato, salad and Texas toast. The meal sells out most Thursdays. Karaoke is at 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Sundays and 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
