▪ The Brass Tap celebrated their soft opening on Jan. 9 with a VIP event that quickly ran out of tickets. This greatly anticipated craft beer experience announced the event on Jan. 4 and planned on giving out tickets for people who stopped by the location on Jan. 5 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. When the 5th rolled around, all the tickets had been given out by 1 p.m.That week, The Brass Tap also began training their employees, so the event served as a way for the workers to get some experience and a better idea of what to expect. Soft openings are also good for feedback from customers, who tried some of the appetizers at The Brass Tap. The food will be especially important to get right at this bar, as it is being made specifically to compliment the many beers that will be available on tap.

At this time, The Market Common location of The Brass Tap plans on having their grand opening on Jan. 16. Fans can keep up with the location’s updates by visiting facebook.com/brasstapmyrtlebeach, which is regularly updated and has already seen a nice amount of traffic.

The company’s main website, brasstapbeerbar.com, also has a Myrtle Beach page set aside for the new location. The phone number they have provided is 843-945-1747 and the bar plans to be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on a daily basis.

▪ Vicini’s Pizzeria has opened their doors in the Rainbow Harbor shopping strip on North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach. This new Italian restaurant already plans on providing delivery services to the immediate area, but at this time, it doesn’t seem as if Vicini’s has an online presence. To learn more and support this new local business, drop by their location next to The Melting Pot.

▪ Dilly Beans Catering and Café on Laurel Street in downtown Conway now only offers catering services. The café was normally open Monday through Friday from 11a.m. to 2p.m., but now lunch will no longer be served. From the new message left on the Dilly Beans answering machine, the focus for this local business will from now on be solely on catering due to the high demand.

Visit their website, dillybeanscateringandcafe.com, or their page on social media, facebook.com/dilly-beans-catering-and-café, to learn more about their services and view photographs. Their number remains the same, 843-488-2120, as well as their location on 219 Laurel Street.

▪ Another lunch favorite in Conway seems to have closed their doors, and the many fans Skip’s Grill and Chill are saddened by the news. Not much is known about the reasoning behind their closure, but they seemed to be having trouble throughout December, posting a number of closure announcements on their Facebook page. Their phone number also appears to no longer be working.

Skip’s was a 50s style diner, known for their burgers and shakes, plus the ’32 Ford Coupe delivery cart out front. They were big on making the joint as much a throwback to the 50s as possible, which made the experience quaint and very fun. Regulars of Skip’s are already hoping there will be news of a reopening, or at least a relocation. In the meantime, visit facebook.com/skipsgrillandchill to leave well wishes.

▪ A new barbeque joint is looking to make mouths water in North Myrtle Beach. Brisket opened at the beginning of the month in the location that was formerly Big KTs, and their name says it all.

Barbeque might be their namesake, but it looks like this restaurant has much more to offer. Guests can view the menu on their website, brisketnmb.com, and see the options to choose from. Appetizers like deviled eggs and frito pie instantly gets the attention of any southerner.

The southern deliciousness goes on to their sides and sandwiches, with creamed corn and collard greens, and even catfish shows up on the menu. Of course, guests have plenty of barbeque to choose from, like ribs, chicken, and pulled pork.

If reading all these food options wetted your appetite, stop by Brisket at 1501 Highway 17 South, or call 843-273-4423 to talk to one of the employees. Calling ahead of time for the moment will be your best bet to make sure you visit when they’re open, as Brisket’s website has not added their hours yet.

▪  Broadway at the Beach continues to undergo major changes as Capriz Italian Feast suddenly closed just before the new year began. The restaurant went through some changes over the past year which didn’t sit well with many regulars. The owners of the Capriz, Homegrown Hospitality Group, encourage guests to visit their other restaurants but didn’t offer any explanation about the closure. Amici’s Brick Oven and Italian Bistro is leaving another empty building in Broadway at the Beach and moving a little more north. Restaurant Row on Highway 17 will be the new home to this loved bistro, although they haven’t announced the new address yet. Keep up with The Surge and Amici’s on their social media page under facebook.com/amicisbrickovenbistro to follow their updates and learn when their new location will open.
