THE LOWDOWN

Socastee Station now offers happy hour specials on food and beer from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Socastee Station is closed on Sunday, but the good times continue from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Daily specials on food include wings, meatloaf, pot roast or all you can eat fish fry.

The specials are reasonably priced at around $7.95 to $9.95 each. Appetizers include springs rolls and mussels caliente. Salads, pasta and soup are also offered at the Socastee Station. Customer favorites include the pot roast, meat loaf and “bog balls.” Bog balls are a highly-requested menu item, according to employees.

The bog balls consist of home-made chicken bog, rolled into balls, then deep fried, sliced and sprinkled with Old Bay seasoning.

There has to be something to wash it all down, the Socastee Station doesn’t disappoint with its happy hour specials.

The happy hour menu for beer and liquor includes $2 domestic bottles and house liquor and .50 cents off other drinks.

Food accompanying the drinks include bog balls, wings, beef or chicken tacos, peel and eat shrimp, calamari, fried mushrooms and stuffed mushroom. The happy hour menu has prices ranging from $1 for tacos to $4 for bog balls and $6 for a pound of peel-and-eat shrimp.

Plenty of space is also available at the bar or in the dining room for customers to enjoy a drink, watch sports games on television or play pool.

The Socastee Station is conveniently located on Socastee Boulevard.
