THE LOWDOWN
The name of a new restaurant, bar, (plus bait and tackle shop) in Murrells Inlet is most appropriate. The Marshview Seafood Kitchen & Bar, and adjoining business, has a perfectly brilliant view of Murrells Inlet.
On a sunny day, with a cool breeze blowing and fun, funky music playing in the background, the Marshview offers a great place to relax.
“This is our first (restaurant), but we hope to expand,” said owner Adam Wiseman.
The Marshview has plenty of delicious seafood, appetizers and desserts to go along with the fabulous view.It just opened in September, but already has a large following. .
“Our menu is very casual, with lots of local seafood,” Wiseman said. “And we have a big selection of local beers, like Stone IPA and New South.”
Wiseman has worked for many years in the restaurant industry. He has lived in Murrells Inlet for about 20 years and worked in different local restaurants for the past decade.
The Marshview has a large menu, and plans to have oyster and clam roasts on a regular basis, Wiseman said.
Rolling Rock and Mike’s Hard Lemonade are served all day, every day, for $2 each. Other specials, also offered throughout the week, include $4 Fireball, Jägermeister, Rumple Minz and Apple Pie Moonshine. Happy Hour takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. each day.

Entrees, served with handcut french fries, a side dish and coleslaw, include the flounder basket, crab cake basket, oyster platter, shrimp and grits and chicken tenders.
Seafood lovers can also snack on the snow crab clusters, steamed blue crabs and lowcountry boil. The Marshview big basket has a large portion of shrimp, flounder, oysters and a choice of scallops, crab cakes or deviled crabs.
Finish it all off with the key lime pie or homemade banana pudding.
A kids’ menu is also available, with choices such as a burger, hotdog, grilled cheese, chicken tenders or popcorn shrimp. Lunch specials, priced at $6, are offered every day, Wiseman said.
