On the Fly | Eventide, Outshyne and Art in the Park this weekend
EVENTIDE
Fresh Brewed Coffee House goes all medieval on you this weekend with the debut of “Eventide,” an original musical by Phil Fox of Wicked Gift fame. The show takes a “disillusioned 20-something songwriter” named Jay, as the press release sums up, “on a bittersweet journey of self-discovery through a contemporary medieval ‘faire’; meeting classic archetypes: The Minstrel, The Knight, and Evil Jester, as seen through the wondering eyes of a child.”
“Eventide” includes a host of local performers and debuts Joan Hodge in the lead role as “The Sprite.” The musical is directed by Linda Carneiro, and the cast is rounded out by ensemble players from the local Coastal Leadership Academy.
Catch “Eventide” Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 8:45 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5. Fresh Brewed Coffee House is located at House 933A Broadway Street in Myrtle Beach. Call 843-497-2884 for details. – By Roger Yale, For The Surge

And guess what - they’re gonna be there at 9 p.m. Nov. 13.
So call in sick from work, let your hair down, and join fellow Boathousers as well as Gator 107.9 every Friday night as they bring the hottest regional, national and up & coming country artists to the stage. Always free, cheap drinks, good times and good people.
ART IN THE PARK
The Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild is still at it, as they prepare for their 43rd annual “Art in the Park” festival this Saturday and Sunday at The Market Common.
Stroll through Art in the Park and soak in the artful creations from more than 40 artists. The two-day event (presented by none other than the Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild) features jewelry makers, woodwork, glass art, a super awesome robot fight, photos, painting, and almost anything you can imagine. Except that robot fight thing, that was totally made up, but it would be super cool so we need to get on that and make it happen.
