Colorful character, drinks in Rose at International Cafe
Bartender
▪ Chris Rose
Bar
▪ International Cafe
How long have you been a bartender? 20 years
What is the weirdest thing you’ve seen in the bar world? That’s classified
How do you deal with difficult customers? They usually pretty much respect me, the majority of the time. If I ask them to leave, I really don’t have too many problems with that. I’ve only had to use force twice, ever, in 20 years of bartending.
Best part about being a bartender? Well absolutely the money but, mostly meeting a lot of new people.
Favorite drink? Double Orange Vodka & Sprite. Boddington’s or Guinees. My cheap beer, I like Miller Lite.
Favorite drink to make? Probably the Blueberry Muffin shot. People love it. The ladies love it.
Best tip you’ve ever received? I’d say $450
What’s the coolest drink that you can make? The Agent Orange. It has like, 10 different ingredients.
Worst mixing combinations? There’s a drink called a "Bear Fight” that just doesn’t make any sense to me. It’s a car bomb, then a Jager Bomb, then a shot of tequila and a shot of milk.
What questions that you get asked behind the bar just make you hate the world? Anything about politics
Biggest tab you’ve ever seen? A few thousand dollars.
Best way to get a bartender’s attention? Holding up big bills. Not dollars. Big bills.
If you get truly shit service is it ok to stiff your bartender? As a bartender I’ve never done it, but you take the good with the bad.
