BLACKOUT
Ripley’s Haunted Adventure invites all to experience Blackouts - no, not the ones you just experienced with all the flooding, these are on purpose. The new, electrifying Ripley’s experience will take place on Friday and Saturday nights through October. Don’t miss Ripley’s Ruckus Undead Drumline performing every weekend – Friday’s at Plyler Park and Saturdays in front of Ripley’s Haunted Adventure – along with other Sideshow performers on the zombie-infested Ocean Boulevard.

Whooaa Black Betty - Bog a-log.
You guessed it - it's the 36th Annual Loris Bog-Off Festival, Oct, 17 at 9 a.m. in downtown Loris. In addition to all the BOG, the festival will feature over 200 craft, retail and food vendors, with 35,000 plus in attendance. What would any Bog-Off festival be without a chicken bog cooking contest? I guess we'll never know, because there's gonna be one. Live music, fireworks, a free concert by National Country Artist, a car & tractor show and much more. This event is free. to the public.
BOAT SHOW
The 26th Annual Georgetown Wooden Boat Show has decided to "set sail" (get it) on the Historic waterfront in Georgetown on Oct. 17 (11 a.m. - 6 p.m.) and Oct. 18 (11 a.m. - 4 p.m.) to the ire of the Annual Conway Metal Boat Show, who will now postpone theirs.
The show is always held on the third weekend in October, and offers fun for the whole family. The show will feature one of our nation's best wooden boat exhibits with more than 140 classic wooden boats displayed on land and water, a wooden boat-building competition, children's model boat-building, knot tying, maritime art and crafts, food and music. A special attraction will be the Wooden Boat Challenge when teams of two race to build a rowing skiff within a 4 hour time limit and then test their boats for seaworthiness in a rowing relay on the Sampit River.
