Fall Lip Colors
Violets and berry shades seem to be all the rage since New York Fashion Week, and I’ve chosen three of my favorites so far. I usually use a lip scrub every other day to keep chapping to a minimum and the one I’ve used lately has been Lush’s Popcorn Lip Scrub. I’ve also used Mally’s Lip Scrub, too. I also like to use a dab of Ceramidin Cream by Dr. Jart. It is the only thing that plumps and seals chapped lips. For a dual package of Dr. Jart’s Ceramidin Cream and Ceramidin Liquid, it’s $32. Invest! Your pout will be so happy. Nyx is a product found at Target and Ulta, but I’ve only found Bite and Kat Von D’s products at Sephora.
Nyx Creamy Round Lipstick in Violet Ray – $5.99 – This violet shade is not as deep or matte as you’d expect. It’s a cream lipstick through and through, which means color may fade much faster than a matte lipstick. I liked that it was a darker shade without being off putting, but it didn’t last through eating at all.
Bite Luminous Creme Lipstick in Juniper – $24 – I love this berry shade! Bite Beauty’s products boast natural ingredients, and according to Think Dirty’s ratings, they’re rated a 5. This lip color lasts a long time. I only had to reapply once throughout the day. The layers to this color are interesting too because there’s enough red in it for it to be a near classic shade, but enough violet so it has an edge.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Motorhead – $21 – Hands down, bar none, the best, coolest lipstick tube I’ve ever held in my hands. I felt like a badass wearing this shade. Though it seems more like a violet, it wears like a Gothic red to me. It also lasts nearly as long as Bite’s Cream Lipstick, so that’s also a good thing.
