THE LOWDOWN
In a scenic spot in downtown Georgetown, Seven Hundred Modern Grill + Bar offers a wide variety of food and drinks that accomodate a wide range of diners.
The restaurant and bar, which reopened under a new name after the devastating fire on Front Street two years ago, has a unique logo that tells the story of its beginnings.
The business was previously known as Zest and had just opened when a fire swept through downtown Georgetown on Sept. 25, 2013.
The seven stripes in the flag-themed logo represent the seven buildings that were lost in the fire, said business owner John Cranston.
The bar and grill has everything on the menu from pizza to burgers and sushi.
Special sandwiches include the Crab Cake Sandwich, The 719 Burger, The Buzzed Rooster and The Maritime Chicken Sandwich.
Desserts include Paul’s Pound Cake and New York-style cheesecake.
Diners can also build their own pizza by choosing their own sauce, a protein and some vegetables to complete their meal.
The airy, open bar serves an array of wines and liquors. Wine is sold by the glass or by the bottle.
Specialty drinks, such as mimosas and mojitos, are part of the offerings at Seven Hundred.
Seven Hundred is family friendly, but offers a chance for high-end dining on Friday and Saturday nights. The menu changes on the weekend, with offerings of yellow fin tuna, lamb chops and shrimp scampi.
The restaurant seats 40 people, with 15 more seats at the bar. More seating is available outside.
