If you’re looking for a way to start winding down for the week, The Market Common and the Dave Matthews Tribute Band are here to help.

From 7-10 p.m. on Thursday, head on over to the Valor Memorial Garden for a Concert on the Green. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and relax on the grass to the tunes of the Dave Matthews Band. The event is free.

SATURDAY

Parrotheads can go crazy this weekend at the “Summer Parrot Head Fest” from noon-6 p.m. on Saturday with music playing until 5 p.m. by Latitude, and The Lanny Prewitt Band, at La Belle Amie Vineyard, 1120 St. Joseph Road, Little River, just west of North Myrtle Beach Middle School.

Admission is $8 but you can save 3 bucks with a donation of two canned/dry good for food bank. Call 399-9463 or labelleamie.com.

If that’s not enough Jimmy Buffett for you, head on over to Margaritaville at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach for dinner and drinks.

If you spent the day at the Myrtle Beach Speedway for Mustang Day earlier this week, you’d probably be interested to know that you can take rides in a Pace Car, in a monster truck and in a NASCAR car at the Speedway anytime you want. Pace Car rides are $20, rides in the Macho Mutt monster truck are just 10 bucks you can ride along in a NASCAR car for $50.

FRIDAY

Myrtle Waves Water Park in Myrtle Beach is unveiling its newest water slide, the Rockin’ Ray, on Friday. It’s the park’s first brand-new attraction since 2008. Two contest winners will be taking the first rides on the Rockin’ Ray Friday morning at 9 a.m. before the park opens to the public at 10 a.m.

The new slide is a two-person ride, so grab some friends this weekend and make a splash at the water park. Visit www.myrtlewaves.com.
