On the Fly | Memorial Day services and fun nights at the Boathouse
SUNDAY-MONDAY
Surfside Beach has two days of events planned for Memorial Day weekend.
There is a cookout on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. on Surfside Drive to remember fallen soldiers and come together as a community. There will be concessions, live music by The Swash Tones and more. Call 843-650-9548 for more information.
Surfside’s Memorial Day service is Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the town’s Veteran’s Memorial.
SUNDAY
Strap your running shoes on for an amazing run through the beautiful Brookgreen Gardens for the third annual 5K/1-mile walk/run race on Sunday!
The race begins at 6 p.m. and takes participants through a scenic route in the gardens at dusk with breathtaking views of the scenery (or maybe it’s breath-taking because you’re running a 5K).
Advance registration for the 5K is $30 or $15 for the 1 mile and includes a one-day pass to Brookgreen Gardens to enjoy at a later date. The race is limited to just 400 runners! Register at www.festivalpromos.com.
