On the Fly | Live music, Mayfest and more this weekend in Myrtle Beach

FRIDAY-MONDAY

The House of Blues is rockin’ and they want you to come knockin’.

The concert venue at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach has quite the lineup planned for this weekend:

▪ Flogging Molly takes the main stage Friday night with The Attack. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. The Paul Grimshaw Band is on the Deck at 6:15 p.m.

▪ Appetite for Destruction and Mostley Crew take the main stage Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and the Paul Grimshaw Band is back on the Deck at 1 p.m. before Low Life takes over at 6 p.m.

▪ Low Life and Backfire take the Deck stage on Sunday at 1 p.m. and 6:15 p.m., respectively.

▪ Old Crow Medicine Show starts the week off right on Monday on the main stage at 7 p.m. The Devil Makes Three is the opening act. Backfire and Low Life are the acts on the Deck.

WEDNESDAY

The Harley rally is nearly here, and with it comes poker runs and bike rides.

The Spring Rally Bike Week MB Poker Run is May 13. It revs up at noon but registration is from 10 a.m.-11:45 a.m. at Suck Bang Blow. The first stop is at The Boathouse with the second stop hits The Myrtle Beach Speedway for laps around the race track and vendors. The third stop is at Bucksport Marina Plantation then down to Big Tuna in Georgetown, another great waterway stop for the fourth stop. Then it’s cruising back up to Suck Bang Blow for a party with Scott Mann from Wave 104.1.

The Cruisin’ the Coast Scenic Rally Ride is May 15 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and starts at Cherry Grove Pier at 3500 N. Ocean Blvd., North Myrtle Beach. It’s $10 per person and benefits Quilts of Valor. It’s a 40 mile-ride through the Grand Strand. Get more details at www.myrtlebeachharley.com/rallies.

SATURDAY

It might not be summer officially, but North Myrtle Beach is partying like it is. Mayfest on Main kicks off summer fun on Main Street with live music, craft vendors, food vendors, a children’s play area, and more. It’s an all-day festival, starting at 10 a.m. Bands include The Guess Who, Blue Monday, Barbara Lewis and the Carolina Soul Band. For more information, visit www.northmyrtlebeachchamber.com.

SATURDAY

Girls on the Run, a nonprofit for young girls designed for fitness and socializing, is running a 5K Run/Walk on Saturday at Grand Park near the Market Common in Myrtle Beach.
