LandShark Bar & Grill has another reason for you to party. Whether you’re a fan of margaritas, cold beer or finger foods, this oceanfront establishment recently started happy hour, so that’s where we went this week for a great view and a beverage.

LandShark Bar & Grill is located next to the SkyWheel on Ocean Boulevard in downtown Myrtle Beach.

The Jimmy Buffett-inspired restaurant has a superb location right along the beautiful beach. You can see the ocean from most of the tables, especially those on the large outdoor oceanfront deck. The establishment has retractable windows that they open up when it’s nice outside so you can feel that nice sea breeze, too.

In addition to glimpses of the ocean, you can spot several TVs scattered throughout the restaurant. During happy hour, coined the “It’s 5 o’clock Somewhere Celebration,” those TVs play videos of people having fun and gearing up for a Jimmy Buffett concert.

The general attitude of the joint is laid back, relaxed and happy. After all, how can you not be happy staring at the ocean and sipping a margarita ... especially if that margarita is on special during happy hour?

Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays. Drink deals include $3 draft beers, $4 wines and $5 margaritas. Food specials include $5 pretzel sticks, chicken bites, or chips and dip. You can also snag white cheddar cheese curds or lava lava shrimp for $6, and chicken quesadillas for 10 bucks.

TIPS

LandShark is a perfect location in the summer to listen to the live music in Plyler Park and watch the fireworks.
