Collin Gosselin Bonds With Kyle Richards' Daughter Amid Drama With His Mom

Collin Gosselin recently reunited with friend Alexia Umansky during a vacation in California amid his ongoing estrangement from his famous mom, Kate Gosselin.

"Went for the pasta 🍝 [and] stayed for the good laughs and conversation," Gosselin, 22, wrote via Instagram on Friday, June 10, sharing a handful of photos from his night out. "So good catching up with friends over dinner in L.A.!!"

Umansky, 30, replied, "Now you just need to move to L.A.! 👯."

It's not known how Collin, one of exes Kate and Jon Gosselin's eight children, became close with Kyle Richards' daughter. (Richards, 57, shares Alexia and her three sisters with her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky.)

"So proud of [Collin] and everything he's standing up for," Alexia, who married husband Jake Zingerman in September 2025, wrote via Instagram Stories on Friday, sharing Collin's snaps. "Proud to call him my friend."

Collin is currently writing a tell-all book about his time growing up in front of the Jon & Kate Plus 8 cameras and his eventual estrangement from Kate, 51, and the majority of his siblings. (Jon, 49, and Kate share twins Mady and Cara, both 25, and sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Alexis, Leah, Joel and Aaden, all 22.)

Us Weekly exclusively revealed the cover for Collin's memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, last month.

"My life was always broadcast to millions, but what was actually happening in my life was never shown - in fact, much of it was deliberately kept hidden," he exclusively told Us. "For years, other people told my story through headlines, television episodes and public speculation. Now, finally, I'm sharing what was really happening behind the scenes."

The former reality TV star added at the time, "This book is about truth, survival, resilience and finding my voice after years of being silenced. If my story helps even one person feel less alone or gives them the courage to tell their own, then every difficult page was worth writing."

Collin previously revealed that he was working with a ghostwriter to complete the book.

"I'm working with a lady who is … helping me to construct this a little bit better," he told The Sun in a 2025 interview. "Honestly, going over these events and putting them on paper and drafting them is almost therapeutic in a way."

Kate has not publicly addressed Collin's book news, though she has previously denied any wrongdoing. She claimed in June that she "can't" file a defamation lawsuit against her son.

"I'm a public figure. Rules are different unfortunately. Or I def would," she wrote via TikTok comment. "The rules are different for [people] in the public eye. I consulted a high power LA attorney … years ago when other [people] were putting crazy stuff out there and that's what he said. The courts don't honor it if you're in the public eye."
