Alaskan Bush People's Rain Brown Shares Photo Amid Sobriety Milestone: 'Me Now'

Alaskan Bush People star Rain Brown is marking a sobriety milestone by sharing a glimpse of her past and present.

The reality star, 23, whose full name is Merry Christmas Kathryn Raindrop Brown, documented her progress in a new TikTok video posted on Sunday, June 21, more than one year after she and her husband, Josiah Lorton, were arrested for an alleged burglary.

"Me in active addiction and alcoholism," she captioned the first photo in her post, juxtaposed with a current snapshot. "Me now, almost 10 months clean almost 7 months sober."

Brown smiled in her latest photo showing her with long honey blonde hair, a drastic change from her appearance last year. "When I was in my worst chapter, I was settling for the bare minimum, not eating, drinking everyday, and honestly didn't even want to be around anymore… but yet God never gave up on me, I have seen the dark side of this world and still strove to find the light again, if you are struggling please know you are NOT alone," she wrote.

"It's not always easy to admit when you have a problem, but you must remember YOU are NOT your mistakes or regrets you are not your past, no matter if you're one day sober or twenty years sober you CAN get through it and come out on the other side better and more connected to not only yourself but the creator also, God LOVES you and he will never forsake you, you are never too far gone for Jesus Christ to make a difference in your life," she continued.

Brown concluded her post with an inspiring message, "You can do it. we do recover. never give up and never surrender to defeat! always remember God and Jesus love you very much, keep shining my peeps ✨️ 💖 💛 #staystrong #soberliving #stayhappy #Godisgood #fyp"

The Discovery Channel star has come a long way since she and Lorton were both arrested in April 2025. She was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree malicious mischief and second-degree criminal trespass while Lorton was charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree malicious mischief.

The couple was released from Okanogan County Jail three days later on their own recognizance.

She addressed the scandal via Instagram following her arrest, writing, "It hurts my heart that my rainbows would choose to believe the lies that my old manager who stole $43,000 from me and abused me instead of maybe thinking ‘oh no who is saying this about Rain?' not ‘wow what a waste,'" Brown responded to the speculation in a statement posted on April 21. "It deeply hurts my heart. With all this said I hope y'all will stick around to hear my side of the story. God bless y'all."
