Kathie Lee Gifford Selling Connecticut Home for Eye-Raising $100 Million

Kathie Lee Gifford is turning the page on her Connecticut chapter of her life - and has a multimillion-dollar listing to prove it.

The former TV personality, 72, is selling the eight-bedroom, nine-bathroom waterfront mansion she once owned with late husband Frank Gifford for a staggering $100 million.

The 13,163-square-foot Greenwich property, purchased by the former couple in 1994, sits on nearly three acres of land and is being sold through Leslie McElwreath at Sotheby's International.

"Frank and I were immediately drawn to the extraordinary and unique Mediterranean beauty of the house on Cedar Cliff. We felt as though we were stepping onto the grounds of a European villa. It was just stunning," Kathie Lee told People in a Monday, May 18, statement.

As for what inspired her to offload her former abode, Kathie Lee said it's about time.

"The years went on, and my children had moved, the house that had once seemed so full of life and of laughter and of music had suddenly gone silent to me," she explained. (Kathie Lee's beloved husband, Frank, died of natural causes at their Connecticut home in August 2015 at the age of 84.)

Kathie Lee said she couldn't choose a favorite quality of the property, although there was one particular feature that put a smile on her face.

MODERN MEDIA FOR SOTHEBY'S INTERNATIONAL REALTY

"Because of the unique position of the house on its own peninsula, I was always so moved by the fact that we were blessed to watch the sun rise every morning from a little alcove which we called ‘The South of France' (a vestige of the 1920s Beach Club) and watch the sun set on the opposite side of the property as we gave thanks for all our blessings," she said.

Kathie Lee fondly remembered the picturesque abode she once called home, including how she used to make the daily 40-mile commute into Midtown Manhattan while employed by NBC.

"Our friend, Jim Bell, the executive producer of the Today show, talked me into returning in 2008, alongside my precious Hoda Kotb," she shared.

Kathie Lee remained at Today until 2018, when she retired and relocated to Tennessee.

"I knew I had to make new memories," Kathie Lee said about her change in scenery. "By that time, I was writing a screenplay for my friend, Craig Ferguson and me, and cowriting the music for the soundtrack. I was spending more and more time in Nashville, and it was the new beginning that I needed."

Despite being in a new state, Kathie Lee said she will forever cherish the memories made in Connecticut, adding, "I never stopped loving Cedar Cliff."
