Shark Wake Park, Hipster XL open on north Strand

The city of North Myrtle Beach is making splashes in two giant ways this summer, and group rates are available at both sites:

▪ Grand opening weekend for Greg Norman Jr.’s Shark Wake Park – showcasing “cable wakeboarding,” with riders pulled by a high-tech pulley system, instead of a boat, and no experience required – noon-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday at North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex, at S.C. 90 and Robert Edge Parkway. Free to see, including pro exhibition at 6 p.m. both days. Daily pass rates to ride start at $34, and monthly, six-month and annual passes.
