Summer is finally here, and that means it’s time for blockbusters to hit the big screen, giving us plenty of excuse to sit inside the cool air conditioned rooms. As always, there is a decent array of genres, from sequels to reboots, from biographies to fantasies.

June will welcome some much anticipated sequels, like Finding Dory, where Pixar returns us to the lovely ocean. July starts strong with Tarzan swinging into theaters, later followed by the Ghostbusters reboot.

August remains warm and fuzzy with feel good movies like Florence Foster Jenkins and Pete’s Dragon. Then summer vacation ends with the first Friday before Labor day, with the heart- wrenching story, The Light Between Oceans.

Please keep in mind, not all movies on this list are guaranteed to come to Myrtle Beach, so be sure to check all local movie listings before making plans. Some movies have not been announced and won’t have a release date until a few weeks in advance rather than a few months, therefore this list is far from all inclusive. Release dates are also subject to change.
