Students shine in choirs, ‘Giant Peach,’ ‘Old Glory’

Pair of original Highwaymen in Haggard tribute

Fans of the late Merle Haggard might like an escape to see Willie Nelson & Family with special guests Kris Kristofferson, and The Strangers, featuring Haggard’s sons Ben and Noel Haggard.

The concert – with two original Highwaymen in Nelson and Kristofferson – is 8 p.m. May 19 at Florence Civic Center, 3300 W. Radio Drive, at Interstates 95 and 20.

Nelson and Haggard had been slated to perform there Oct. 15, but illness triggered the postponement, then Haggard died April 6 at age 79.
