Scarves for spring accessorizing | Fashion

Scarves are not only a stylish way to hold off the chill of spring, but they also offer a chic alternative to accessorizing an outfit with minimal effort.

The skinny scarf has been trending the last few seasons and this spring is no different. Due to its short width, it’s a chic option for more tailored dressing- think suits, blouses, and vests. For an edgier look, opt for one in a snakeskin print, like White House Black Market’s Exotic Print Skinny Scarf in Neutral ($48). The multiple tan and brown hues of the print will pop next to subdued neutral tones and tailoring, especially when tied as a bow or wrapped around the neck once.

An infinity scarf takes the guesswork out of how to wear it thanks to its one long continuous loop of fabric. A versatile option is Handpicked’s Mosaic Infinity Scarf in Pink/Green ($24). Its hot pink, ice blue, and lime green mosaic print is accented with white tassels and trim. Loop it around your neck with your favorite white t-shirt and jeans, or as an accent to a simple white shift dress.

The most versatile option of scarves, the oblong scarf offers a variety of ways to wear it- in a fashion knot, twisted and tied, or a simple European loop. Opt for one in a vibrant print to evoke the season, like Charming Charlie’s Lily Blossom Scarf in Green ($12). The lime green, yellow and white print will add a chic detail to a simple tank dress or top.
