About 60 vendors will display their wares and discuss their services with visitors to the 14th annual Brunswick County Chamber Home show March 12. The show will include garden vendors as it always has and occupy the lobby, cafeteria and gym at Shallotte Middle School, Shallotte, N.C.

Megan Bishop, director of events at the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, explains that the Chamber has expanded the show to include banks, publishers and nonprofits. Paws-Ability and Sunset Beach Concerts are among the nonprofits that will send representatives. Kitchen, bathroom, heating and air conditioning and other traditional dealers who specialize in household needs are included as well as area boutique shops. New to the show is Carolina Outdoor Power Equipment and returning is Milligan Power and Lawn Equipment. Do-it-yourself projects are popular, Bishop explains. Another current interest centers on health and nutrition such as detoxifying the body, supplements and energy drinks, all of which will be represented.

“People like making a connection with vendors,” Bishops says, and adds that the vendors anticipate meeting potential customers.

Brunswick Electric Membership Corp. is the presenting sponsor, and Home Depot has donated two rocking chairs, which will be raffled off. Cost of raffle tickets is $5 for three. A substantial number of donated door prizes will be given to lucky winners while thirsty visitors can purchase Sunset Slush, classic Italian ice, in a variety of choices.

“We still get 1,000 people to the show,” Bishop says.
