‘Smooch a Pooch’ benefit in Little River
The second annual “Smooch a Pooch & Kiss a Kitty Dinner Dance” will benefit Kind Keeper Animal Rescue no-kill shelter in Little River, Also, bring any cleaning supply item (such as laundry or dish detergent, bleach, or floor cleaner) and receive a free ticket for the raffle. Go ‘Into the Woods’ at high school

Professor to give reading of short stories

Jim Dailakis, who has performed at the Edinburgh International Arts Festival in Scotland, will perform nightly through the weekend: 8 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday and 10:15 p.m. Friday-Saturday, with David Toby and Cooter Douglas opening, for $15 or $17.50; and special “Valentine’s“Love & Laughter” show, with Douglas, 8 p.m. Sunday, for $20 or $22. Orchid group to cover repotting steps
