Oberst home for ‘Mark Twain: In His Own Words’
The Murrells Inlet Community Theatre will welcome home a special guest this weekend, with Georgetown native Bill Oberst Jr. in “Mark Twain: In His Own Words,” a solo portrayal, at 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
Based in Los Angeles, Oberst has amassed a tall resume with dozens of roles on television and movies, including a villainous guest appearance in 2014 on CBS’ “Criminal Minds.”

Symphony, Chorale share ‘Musical Exaltation’
Long Bay Symphony’s 28th season continues with “Musical Exaltation,” featuring the Carolina Master Chorale.
The concert, at 4 p.m. Sunday, comprises Dvorak’s “Carnival Overture,” Vaughan Williams’ “Serenade to Music,” Bruckner’s “Psalm 150,” Debussy’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun,” and Mendelssohn’s “Symphony No. 5: Reformation.”
