Events mark World AIDS Day

Several local events will mark World AIDS Day. Details at 843-236-9000 or careteamplus.org:

▪ All-day-and-night memorial quilt display at Coastal Grand mall, in exterior store space across from Books-A-Million, near Old Navy & Dick’s Sporting Goods.

▪ Free HIV testing for adults, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at at Careteam+ Offices, 3650 Clay Pond Road, west from George Bishop Parkway, between U.S. 501 and U.S. 17 Bypass.

▪ Vigil, 6 p.m. on deck of Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, 1110 N. Ocean Blvd., across from LandShark Surf Shack entrance, concluding with SkyWheel flight.

Also, anyone wanting to add a panel to quilt in remembrance of someone who died from AIDS (www.aidsquilt.org) is asked to bring it to vigil for relay by Careteam+.

Join tree lighting in Little River

The eighth annual Little River Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will include carols by the chorus from North Myrtle Beach High School. Details at 843-249-4157.

Stamp club meets, talking ‘V-Mail’

The Myrtle Beach Stamp Club meets the first Tuesday monthly, this time with a program on “V-Mail.” Anyone interested in learning more about the hobby is welcome. Details at 843-347-0087, or email lilfort@sccoast.net.
