With a Jon Pardi concert, it really is time to party.

See why at 8 p.m. Saturday at House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach. The 30-year-old singer, known for hits “Up All Night,” “When I’ve Been Drinkin’ ” and “Missin’ You Crazy” from his debut CD, “Write You a Song,” is climbing the country charts again with “Head Over Boots.” So are Brothers Osborne, the opening act on this “All Time High” Tour, knocking on the Top 10 door last week with “Stay a Little Longer.”

Calling last weekend before a round of golf in Florida., Pardi spoke about his love of traditional country music by such artists as Alan Jackson, Dwight Yoakam and the late Waylon Jennings, George Jones and Buck Owens, a result from family influences when growing up in Dixon, Calif, near Sacramento. Remembering his grandmother’s tastes and how his ears were open for works by other musicians including Mark Chestnut, Merle Haggard, and Tracy Lawrence, it was everyday entertainment and “not knowing they were legendary artists at the time.”

Thinking back to his first time seeing Yoakam’s “Honky Tonk Man” video at age 7, Pardi said “that really stuck with me,” and he sees younger generations today “getting into” classic country roots.

With “Head Over Boots,” the debut from his second album, forthcoming on Capitol Nashville, Pardi said the melody came to mind last year, and the lyrics this year. A visit to his father’s home in San Antonio, where he recalled “watching everybody dancing – old couples and young couples two-step dancing,” prompted his quick recording of the melody into his mobile phone, then back in Nashville, Tenn., he and co-writer Luke Laird later completed the whole package. Pardi said its “traditional sounding” catch made this a “fabulous” project.

Narrowing down the list of numbers for the new CD, Pardi said he’s hoping to “get at least 13” for this, with hopes for release in February or March.

Pardon Pardi for remaining in awe after being a guest this past year on Jackson’s 25th anniversary “Keepin’ It Country” Tour, and taking some moments to sit on the side and watch the host perform.

“I loved watching him sing ‘Blues Man,’ ” Pardi said.

Teaming up this year with Brothers Osborne – siblings T.J. and John – Pardi said they “kind of came up” on the music scene simultaneously, and “we always wanted to do more shows together.”

Don’t expect Pardi, with his own seasoning for sing-along tunes, to slow down the music tempo or tone on stage, though.

“I’ve always said, you don’t go to concerts to cry,” he declared, committed to going all out so everyone attending his tour with Brothers Osborne shares in their “pumped up” feeling.

“Everybody needs to laugh and know it’s a good time,” Pardi said. “We always want to be the guys to bring that.”
