Surf movie premiere, dodgeball tourney help charities
▪ Movie premiere of “Translucence of Fog (The Brock Johnson Story),” a documentary about the International Surfing Association World Adaptive Surfing Championship in La Jolla, Calif., 7 p.m. Friday at Wild Wings Cafe, in Barefoot Landing, on U.S. 17 in North Myrtle Beach. Free admission. Also, a silent auction will benefit Adaptive Surf Project of North Myrtle Beach, which relays surfboards for free to surfers who have a disability, and the boards are adapted for each individual with ramps, straps, and anything the surfer needs to surf. The group works with organizations such as Coastal Carolina Adaptive Sports, Life Rolls On, Wheel to Surf, and Ocean Cure to take such individuals surfing whenever they want to go. Last year, Adaptive Surf Project gave away 11 surfboards and participated in more than 20 surfing events. Get out for ‘Cyclovia’ at The Market Common
“Cyclovia,” a festival celebrating healthy activities and open streets, will roll 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at The Market Common, on Farrow Parkway in Myrtle Beach, and admission is free.
Choices include:
▪ Fitness demonstrations such as with CrossFit, TRX, resistance bands and kettle bells.
▪ Fitness classes such as Zumba and Piloxing.
▪ Yoga and Pilates.
▪ Guided bicycle tours of The Market Common-area bike paths and mountain bike trails on the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base.
▪ 5K Family Fun Run, with three loops around the lake at Myrtle Beach’s Grand Park, also with a Youth Run (one lap) and Tot Trot.
▪ Geocaching, by foot and on bicycle.
▪ Closing the event: a “Respect Ride” in silence, to honor cyclists who died or were injured in crashes with cars and to increase awareness about bicycle safety.

Local discounts sail on Barefoot Princess
The Barefoot Princess Riverboat will sail with “locals appreciation” deals on certain cruises Monday-Nov. 17.
Residents of six proximate counties – including Horry, Georgetown and Brunswick – who show a driver’s license can obtain special rates for as many as six people. Special rates apply to:
▪ 90-minute, regular sightseeing cruises – noon Nov. 7 and 10 – for $15 ages 11 and older, and $10 ages 2-10.
▪ Two-hour dinner cruises – 4:30 p.m. Monday and Nov. 14 and 16; 5 p.m. Nov. 5; and 5:30 p.m. Nov. 17 – for $30 ages 11 and older, and $21 ages 2-10.
All rides are free for lap children, ages 1 and younger.
