Lauren Bennett, known for LMFAO's 'Party Rock Anthem,' dies at 37

"Party Rock Anthem" singer Lauren Bennett has died at the age of 37.

The musician's former band, G.R.L., shared the news in a heartfelt statement posted to their official Instagram page Monday, June 6.

"It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren," it read. "Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.

"We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us. Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved. Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts. Your GRLs, Em, Tash, and P," it concluded, naming members Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton and Paula van Oppen.

Bennett's cause of death remains unknown. USA TODAY has reached out to Bennett's rep for comment.

In 2010, Bennett launched a solo career that included collaborations with artists such as CeeLo Green and will.i.am. She is best known for her feature on LMFAO's chart-topping 2011 song, "Party Rock Anthem," which sat at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks at the time.

Bennett was born on June 24, 1989, in Meopham, England. Her career began when she formed the Paradiso Girls in 2007 when she was just 18. They dropped their debut single "Patron Tequila" in 2009, before she went on to release music on her own.

Bennett then joined G.R.L., which is behind tunes including "Vacation," "Wild Wild Love" with Pitbull and "Ugly Heart." In 2014, group member Simone Battle died by suicide at 25.

G.R.L. later released a tribute song called "Lighthouse" in partnership with its G.R.L. Gives an Hour campaign supporting mental health in Battle's honor, and the band ultimately split in 2015.

More recently, Bennett released songs "Reality" and "Hurricane" on her own and has also reunited with her fellow G.R.L. alums for various projects over the years.
