Jennifer Beals, 62, Brings Back Her Famous ‘Flashdance' Curls 43 Years Later-See the Look

Jennifer Beals is bringing back her classic movie curls 43 years after Flashdance debuted.

The actress, 62, who rose to superstardom as an aspiring dancer who spends her days working in a steel mill in the iconic '80s movie Flashdance, has barely changed a bit since her days starring in the beloved 1983 flick. Known for dancing around the room in the film to the synth-pop classic "Maniac," Beals lit up the movie screen with her sweaty curls and untraditional dance moves. But in a new photo posted to her Instagram page, Beals made it clear she's bringing back her iconic curls from the film in a new photo.

"the hair goes home in Florida ☺️," Beals captioned the shot, which showed her flowing locks in their natural state.

If you need a reminder of what Beals looked like dancing wildly in 1983, here's a refresher:

The Post-Flashdance Years

After completing her role in Flashdance, Beals returned to college at Yale and was out of the spotlight for several years. However, she resurfaced in several indie flicks and eventually became a cult favorite character for her role as Bette Porter, the brilliant lesbian art expert, on Showtime's The L Word, which ran from 2004 to 2009. She even reprised her role on the series reboot, The L Word: Generation Q, which ran from 2019 to 2023.

Last year, Beals created The L Word: A Photographic Journal as a way to honor the show's memory and its wild fandom. An avid photographer, the project originally started as a personal gift for the cast and crew. However, she soon realized the fans would go wild for it.

"It's a way to hold onto a moment in time that was incredibly special," she told Us Weekly, calling the book "a love letter to the cast, the crew, and the fans who made The L Word what it was. It's about remembering the joy and connection we all felt."

What's Next for Jennifer Beals?

Last year, Beals wrapped production in Philadelphia on Joy Will Prevail, a period drama about the final three years in the life of architect Louis Kahn, Deadline reported. Written and directed by Max Korman in his feature debut, the film stars Hollywood legend Griffin Dunne as Kahn alongside Alexis Bledel, Ben Rosenfield, and Molly Ephraim. Beals plays Kahn's wife in the film, which is set in the early 1970s.
