Beyoncé surprises fans with new single 'Morning Dew (Donk)'

The wait may finally be over

Beyoncé Knowles-Carter seems to be giving fans just what they've been asking for: new music.

The Grammy-winning singer's Parkwood Entertainment company announced a new single titled "Morning Dew (Donk)" via Instagram on Saturday, July 4. The track blends smooth R&B vocals with contemporary pop production and is now available on all streaming platforms.

The surprise drop is rumored to kickstart a countdown to her birthday on Sept. 4, and the 20th anniversary of her second studio album, "B'Day" released Sept. 4, 2006. However, this has not yet been confirmed.

Fans have been anticipating Beyoncé's next move and any updates regarding her still unannounced Act III album.

In July 2022, Beyoncé released her seventh studio album "Renaissance." The project earned her four Grammys, including best dance/electronic music album, and made her the most decorated artist in the awards' history. She later announced the album was the first part of a three-act project, making "Cowboy Carter" the second act.

After releasing albums across genres, both country and dance music, there has been growing speculation that the last project in the trilogy could be a rock album. Beyoncé only fueled this idea by dressing as funk-rock diva Betty Davis for Halloween. Plus, an ad for her August 2025 Levi's jeans collection fanned the flames of speculation when she swapped out her horse for a motorcycle.

So far, Beyoncé has not released any additional information about the new song or an upcoming project.

However, it's safe to say fans should expect the unexpected.
