G2 Esports Reverse Sweep Top Esports at MSI 2026

G2 Esports completed a stunning reverse sweep to defeat Top Esports 3-2 at the MSI 2026 Knockouts. The LEC representatives recovered after dropping the opening two games. G2 claimed three consecutive victories to complete MSI 2026's biggest comeback so far. Here's a recap of the unforgettable five-game series.

G2 and TES traded blows throughout a closely contested first game, but TES pulled ahead with stronger mid game teamfighting. The LPL representatives won two decisive late game engagements to secure the opening victory and take an early series lead.

The second game followed a similar script, with both teams remaining evenly matched during the early stages. TES once again came out on top in crucial skirmishes before turning their advantage into an insurmountable lead. They eventually closed out the game to move within one win of the series.

Facing elimination, G2 responded in the third game with a much stronger performance. While both teams traded kills throughout the early game, G2 secured more neutral objectives to build momentum. The LEC representatives dominated the mid and late game fights to stay alive and cut the series deficit to 2-1.

The fourth game featured another action-packed early game, though TES gained an early advantage through dragon control. G2 gradually erased the deficit with stronger late game teamfighting before securing Baron to force a decisive fifth game.

The deciding fifth game remained close through the early stages, with G2 securing more kills while TES maintained control of the dragons. The turning point came after G2 won a crucial late game fight, picking up multiple kills and Baron. Empowered by the buff, G2 snowballed the remaining fights to complete the reverse sweep.

With the victory, G2 advances to the next round of the MSI 2026 Knockout Stage, where they will face HLE. Meanwhile, TES drops to the lower bracket and must fight through the elimination bracket to keep its MSI 2026 campaign alive.
