June 11 (UPI) -- Paramount Pictures is teasing the new film Heart of the Beast.

The studio shared a trailer for the movie Thursday featuring Brad Pitt and J.K. Simmons.

Heart of the Beast is a survival thriller starring Pitt as James Belmont, a Special Forces veteran who must survive the Alaskan wilderness after getting stranded with his beloved combat dog, Odin.

"Together, they are forced into a brutal fight for survival against the elements ... [in] an intense adventure thriller that explores the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend as they face their greatest battle yet," an official synopsis reads.

The trailer shows James and Odin deal with wounds both physical and psychological as they work together to make it out of the wilds alive.

Heart of the Beast reunites Pitt with Fury director David Ayer. The film opens in theaters Sept. 25.
