Mark Hamill Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Late ‘Star Wars' Voice Actor Tom Kane

Legendary Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamillhas posted a touching tribute to Star Warsvoice actor Tom Kane, who passed away on May 18 at the age of 64.

Among the roles Kane voiced over his many years with Star Wars were Jedi Master Yoda, the narrator of the TV series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Admiral Yularen, Qui-Gon Jinn and many more.

In addition to his Star Wars roles, Kane was the voice of Professor Utonium in the popular cartoon The Powerpuff Girls, which began in 1998 and ran until 2005.

Following Kane's passing, Hamill shared a post from igndotcom, featuring a tribute to Kane, on his Instagram story. Along with the post, Hamill wrote, "...there will never be another one quite like him," along with "#DEVASTATED."

The igndotcom post that Hamill shared is also flooded with comments from fans of Kane's many roles. One commenter wrote, "thank you for being the voice of one of the best cartoon dads as professor utonium on the powerpuff girls and being one of the best Yoda voices other then frank Oz you will be missed," and another said, "Thank you sir for the wonderful childhood 🫡."

The comments also highlight a number of other roles that Kane had throughout his several decades of work, from Takeo in Call of Duty to Lord Monkey Fist (and others) in Kim Possible.

Since Kane's passing was announced, other costars have also posted tributes, including the voice actresses from The Powerpuff Girls.

Cathy Cavadini, who was the original voice actor for Blossom on the show, shared an Instagram post with a lengthy message honoring Kane, which included, among other comments, "My heart is aching. Today, we lost one of the best humans on the planet. Tom Kane passed away surrounded by his loving wife, Cindy, and his family. Tom was not only a truly gifted, incredible, and prolific voice actor, but one of the most genuine and kind people I have ever known."

Likewise, Tara Strong, who voiced Bubbles on the original Powerpuff Girls show, shared a similarly long Instagram post that read, among other things, "They say there's no such thing as a perfect man…those people never met #TomKane. I've never in my life met a sweeter soul or a better human being."

E. G. Daily, who voiced the third sister, Buttercup, also posted a tribute, hers reading, "It is with heavy sad hearts to share our amazing #powerpuffgirls father @tkanevo has passed #RIP We love you Tom and your beautiful wife Cindy and children. The world will miss you 💔 #yoda #professorutonium."
