Myrtle Beach’s Carolina Country Music Fest nominated for a major music award
The full lineup for the 2022 Carolina Country Music Fest is set to be released March 4. But the 2021 festival is still making headlines.
The Myrtle Beach-based event has been nominated for festival of the year by the Academy of Country Music Awards. CCMF is one of five events in the running.
“WOW! This is an honor to be considered for this award & all the credit goes to YOU, our fans; you did this!” CCMF officials tweeted Thursday. “To our CCMF family, your loyalty & love for this event was noticed by the ACM Awards. We’re so proud to represent the Carolinas & Myrtle Beach, SC with this nomination!”
CCMF is up against Country Thunder (Florence, Arizona), Faster Horses Festival (Brooklyn, Michigan), Tortuga Music Festival (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) and Windy City Smokeout Festival (Chicago).
“Shoutout to our CCMFer’s for making this possible! Best fans ever!” CCMF officials wrote in another tweet Thursday.
The Carolina Country Music Fest began in 2015 and will have its seventh event — the 2020 festival was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic — June 9-12 at Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place.
Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and Riley Green are the headliners for the 2022 festival.
The event brings tens of thousands to the Grand Strand annually.
ACM Awards
The 57th edition of the ACM Awards are set for March 7 in Las Vegas.
The awards show, hosted by Dolly Parton, Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett, will stream live and commercial-free on Prime Video at 8 p.m.
