Are you a fan of John Boy & Billy? Where you can listen to them beginning April 1
WLSC Tiger Radio based in Loris is celebrating April Fool’s Day this year with a new morning show.
The John Boy & Billy Big Show debuts on April 1 on the station at 1240 AM and TigerRadio.com, and WLSC is in the process of creating an FM station at 106.7 FM.
The popular syndicated morning program was once on the air in the Myrtle Beach area market on Sunny 103.1 FM, and WLSC station manager Banana Jack Murphy is thrilled to bring it back to the airwaves.
“John Boy and Billy are radio legends in the South and they have a huge fan base in this area,” Murphy said in a release. “I’ve said many times that WLSC Tiger Radio is the best station that folks have never heard. Now, with John Boy & Billy on the air, more folks are gonna give us a listen.”
WLSC is crowd funding to raise funds to complete construction on the station’s FM translator, for which the FCC has granted a construction permit, Murphy said. Donations can be made at TigerRadio.com.
The John Boy & Billy Big Show is a four-hour program airing Monday through Saturday from 6-10 a.m. It features John Isley and Billy James and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
WLSC Tiger Radio is also the home of programs like Down at the Barbershop, The Banana Jack Murphy Show and Pure American Country with Bill Cody.
The station has served Loris and Horry County since 1958, which makes it one of the oldest media outlets in South Carolina. In 2007, Murphy and his wife, Barb Krumm, formed Banana Jack Murphy Productions LLC and purchased WLSC.
The WLSC app can be downloaded at iTunes and GooglePlay and the station can also be accessed on a phone by dialing AudioNow at 614-793-3888.
