Nature programs at park

Choose from two nature programs on Fridays this month. Details at 238-0874 or www.myrtlebeachsp.com:

▪ “What Wildlife Will A-Pier?” at 10 a.m., with up to 45 minutes on pier, to see what land and sea animals are hanging around.

▪ “Backyard Bird ID,” 2-2:30 p.m. at nature center, for ages 8 and older, to observe common local birds.

Details | Myrtle Beach State Park, open 6 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, on U.S. 17 Business, one mile south of Ocean Boulevard/Farrow Parkway. Free with admission: $5 ages 16 and older, $3.25 S.C. seniors and $3 ages 6-15.

Join Strand Cinema

The Strand Cinema group begins a new weekend of movies: “The 100-Year Old Man,” from 2013m at 2:30 p.m., and “Young Victoria” (2009) at 7 p.m.; then on Saturday, from 2014: “Kumiko the Treasure Hunter” at 2:30 p.m. and “St. Vincent” at 7 p.m. Details at 527-2924 or www.strandcinema.org.

Ingram Planetarium, 7625 High Market St., Sunset Beach, N.C., opening at 11:30 a.m. Fridays-Saturdays, continues its winter-spring slate for one more weekend with this schedule of Sky Theater dome shows. ▪ Both days – “Dinosaur Passage to Pangaea” at noon, and “Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure” 1 p.m.

▪ Fridays only – “Back to the Moon for Good” 2 p.m., and “Seven Wonders” 3 p.m.

▪ Saturdays only – “Two Small Pieces of Glass” 2 p.m., and “Oasis in Space” 3 p.m.
