Bike series concludes

The Waccamaw Trail Blazers mountain biking club concludes an off-road time trial series. Race classes are men’s open, women’s open, and young racers, and proceeds will benefit Gavin Gore’s Tour De Cure campaign with the American Diabetes Association. Details at www.waccamawtrailblazers.com.

Learn about ‘Legacies’

Stop by for a presentation on “Horry County Legacies,” with Mary Catherine Hyman, senior planner with Horry County, discussing such projects as the Patriot Tree Project, pairing majestic live oak trees with individuals from Horry County who served in the Civil War; Legacy Business Program, honoring local businesses that have contributed to the local economic heritage more than 50 continuous years; and Cemetery Project, documenting gravesites and cemeteries using visual locators, historic records and ground-penetrating radar.
