The city of North Myrtle Beach is making splashes with two attractions this summer, open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. daily:
▪ Newly opened “Aqua Park,” spanning an acre at Shark Wake Park, at North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex, at S.C. 90 and Robert Edge Parkway – for individuals ages 7 and older, at least 45 inches tall, and good swimmers – with capacity for 120 people per hour. $25 for 45-minute session, and $10 additional same-day session, if spots available. ▪ Hipster XL inflatable beach slide, through Sept. 4 in Ocean Park, at First Avenue South and Ocean Boulevard, one block south of Main Street. ‘Wine-Around’ consumes Conway; aquarium touts dads, family painting

Swing, sing along with rock roots in ‘Smokey Joe’s Cafe’
Catch Brunswick Little Theatre’s “Smokey Joe’s Cafe – The Songs of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller,” with 40 songs from the 1950s and ’60s, an era of the roots of rock and roll, spread across five chapters.
The hits include “Hound Dog” and “Jailhouse Rock,” made famous by Elvis Presley, and the Drifters’ “On Broadway” (later covered by George Benson) and “Stand By Me.”
The cast comprises five women – Elizabeth Flora, Rasa Love, Christine Martinez, Carolyn Stringer, and Grace Wong-Heck – and five men – Frank Blackmon, Larry Bochiaro, Joe Loughlin, Geoff Gersen, and Tommy Younts.

‘Hobcaw Barony’ books four ‘Wild Wednesdays’ for summer
Hobcaw Barony, on U.S. 17, just north of Georgetown, has made “Wild Wednesdays” a summer trademark series for families with children.
▪ “Children’s Beach Walk,” for ages 7-16, on their own, 2:30-5 p.m. June 21, for $10.
▪ “Alligator Birthday” for Andy, showcasing these reptiles, 2:30-4 p.m. July 5, for $10, and free for ages 6 and younger with accompanying adult.
▪ “Ghosts from the Coast,” 2:30-4 p.m. July 19, for $10, with capacity for 43 youth.
▪ “Snake Birthday,” featuring these reptiles, 2:30-4 p.m. Aug. 2, for $10, with room for 20 children.
