Annual ‘Turkey Trots,’ parade on tap
▪ “Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot” (8k, 5k and 1 mile), benefiting Grand Strand Humane Society of Myrtle Beach, 8 a.m. from Myrtle Beach’s Valor Memorial Garden, on Farrow Parkway, at The Market Common; and “Surfside Rotary Turkey Trot” (10k and 5k at 8:30 a.m., 1 mile at 8:35, and “Tot Trot” 10:15) for Surfside Beach Rotary Club, from Surfside Beach Pier parking lot, at Ocean Boulevard and Surfside Drive. State Bluegrass Festival back for 47th year
The 47th annual S.C. State Bluegrass Festival is Thursday-Saturday, with this schedule on opening day: Alan Sibley and the Magnolia Ramblers at noon and 4:45 p.m., Bass Mountain Boys (reunion) 12:45 and 5:30, Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice 1:30 and 6:15, The Grascals 2:15 and 7, Russell Moore and IIIrd Time Out 3:05 and 7:45, and Larry Sparks & the Lonesome Ramblers 8:30.
