Letter | Why grieve for an African lion? Because life is life and injustice must not stand

Life, injustice come in many forms

The blood thirsty lying psychopath of a dentist (Walter Palmer) should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. In my view, any punishment he may receive will not be enough.

This so called hunter lured a lion out of his protected area with the sole purpose of killing it. Now he says that he didn't know that it was protected. If that wasn't bad enough, this “hunter” wounded the animal, which had to be tracked for 40 hours before Cecil was eventually shot and killed.

This lunatic inflicted great pain on this majestic creature for no reason except to massage his inflated ego.

I have to ask: Why did he deliberately lure Cecil out of his protected area with bait? Why did he try to destroy the tracking device that Cecil had?

Why was he so intent on killing any lion, an animal with a dwindling population?

Why does a person who is well off choose to invest in destructive endeavors instead of doing some good with his resources?

It is obvious that this poor excuse for a human being is lying to save his own miserable existence.

It is my hope that he loses his dental practice and is put in jail. It would be best if he were taken out of circulation for a long time.

Another question that has surfaced along with this outrage is from right-to-life folks wonder why we are paying so much attention to a murdered lion.

The answer is that they are two separate issues. But acting and speaking out against injustice is the correct reaction in every instance.
