Myrtle Beach man dead after Sunday morning shooting

A Myrtle Beach man is dead after a shooting Sunday morning, officials said.

Latron Lewis, 30, was shot after an altercation at about 5:15 a.m. Sunday at LaQuinta Inn and Suites on 21st Avenue North in Myrtle Beach across from Broadway at the Beach, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.

Lewis was taken to Grand Strand Medical Center and died around 6:30 a.m. from trauma caused by a gunshot, Fowler said.

Myrtle Beach police are investigating the incident.
