Update: More details released in Wal-Mart television theft, suspect dressed as store employee
Conway police are looking for a suspect after a man dressed as a Wal-Mart store employee allegedly stole items from the electronics department twice last week, including three televisions.
Police were called about 8:49 p.m. Friday to Wal-Mart on 2709 Church St. in Conway after a man was allegedly seen on store surveillance footage selecting three televisions from the electronics department about 2:22 a.m. July 29 and leaving the store with them, according to a police report.
The employee told police that while watching security footage, she saw a man enter the store, get a shopping cart, then select a 55-inch television, valued at $999, and two 48-inch televisions, valued at $448 each, police said.
Authorities said the same man was also seen on store surveillance footage on Friday taking items and leaving the store.
A Wal-Mart employee told authorities a shopping cart was found being used to prop open an emergency exit door in both incidents.
The employee said the man left the store each time in an older model, silver or gold four-door car and drove away.
Conway police have released photos of the suspect and are asking that anyone with information contact Conway Police Department at 248-1790.
