Two men arrested, one sought after shooting at Myrtle Beach bar
Horry County police charged two men with attempted murder after a shootout at a Myrtle Beach area bar left two people injured.
Jerrmon Quinton Gowdy, 27, of Georgetown, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to Lt. Raul Denis.
Calvin Durrell Ford, 28, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a violent felon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Both men are being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center, Denis said.
Police are still searching for Casey LaBarrett Richardson, 30, of Conway, in connection with this case. Richardson is wanted for attempted murder, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a violent felon and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Police were called to Fat Boiz Bar on Fred Nash Boulevard in Myrtle Beach on June 28 for a reported shooting between at least three men and security guards, Denis said.
Highway Patrol officers were conducting a vehicle accident investigation in the area and heard several gunshots near the bar, so they called Horry County police. While en route to the bar one of the shooting victims called police to report the incident, the police report said.
The three suspects were escorted out by security guards around 4:40 a.m. over a pool game incident when a security officer saw a man in a car pull a gun, Denis said. The security guard responded by drawing his own firearm and was shot at by other people, Denis said.
The security guard was shot in the hand and taken to Grand Strand Medical Center, the report said.
The investigation revealed two groups of people were firing guns at each other when one of the groups fired toward the security officers. Two people suffered minor gunshot wounds, Denis said.
Police say Richardson is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information about Richardson is asked to call police at 248-1520 or the tip line at 915-8477.
