Boyfriend of ‘Teen Mom 2’ star arrested for domestic assault

The boyfriend of an area “Teen Mom 2” star was arrested after an argument at the couple’s Myrtle Beach home, police said.

Horry County police charged Nathan Griffith, 27, with criminal domestic violence Wednesday after he argued with a 23-year-old household member, Lt. Raul Denis said.

Police were called to a residence on Eagle Creek Drive in Myrtle Beach around 4:15 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. The location also is the address where MTV’s reality show “Teen Mom 2” is filmed, Denis said.

The victim told police she came home to get some personal belongings after staying at a hotel when she and Griffith began arguing , and he demanded she return an engagement ring. She told officers she was sitting on the toilet in the master bathroom when Griffith came in and pinned her against the toilet and forcibly took the engagement ring off her finger.

The victim said she and Griffith wrestled over the ring and that he cut her finger when he forced the ring off. She told police that Griffith ran down the stairs and grabbed the keys to their car after the incident and said MTV security came to the house after hearing her screams.

Griffith told officers he never touched the victim and that she got upset with him and took the engagement ring off, which caused the cut to her finger. Police said Griffith repeatedly said he did not touch the victim and also told them that she is always violent with him. Griffith said he had injuries from previous altercations with her, and he showed police old marks that were on his back, according to the report.

An MTV camera crew member told police he was outside the house when the incident occurred and that he tried to get inside, but the door was locked, authorities said.

Police did see a fresh scratch on the victim’s left pinky finger, and Griffith was arrested in connection with the incident.

In September 2013, Griffith was charged with driving under suspension, driving on the wrong side of the road and resisting arrest. He spent 11 days at J. Reuben Long Detention Center in April 2014 for those charges, according to jail records.

Griffith, who is featured on the reality show, is reportedly dating Jenelle Evans on the show, and the couple have one child together. Evans was arrested Feb. 24 for driving without a license.
