Conway man released on $10,000 bail after Horry County police charge him in girl’s sexual assault
A Conway man was released on $10,000 bail Wednesday after he was charged with four counts of sexual assault in connection with a young girl being inappropriately touched, according to authorities.
William Chester Clemons, 43, of Conway was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Oct. 30 on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 11 and three counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor between the ages of 11 and 14, according to jail records.
Horry County police charged Clemons after receiving information from authorities in West Virginia that a girl reported in October she had been sexually assaulted, according to a police report.
Detectives spoke to the girl and she reported the assaults occurred from the age of 10 until she turned 14 and while she lived in Horry County, according to the report.
