Florida man dead after car crash Tuesday night
A Florida man died at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center Tuesday night shortly after a car crash occurred, according to Darris Fowler, deputy coroner with Horry County.
Josue Pimentel 40, of Tampa, Fla. was a passenger in a car that crashed about 7:50 p.m. at 33rd Avenue North and U.S. 17 Bypass, Fowler said.
Pimentel died from trauma he suffered in the crash about 8:44 p.m., authorities said.
Myrtle Beach police are investigating the crash, which is the second traffic fatality to occur on Tuesday.
Stacie Lynn Pannell, 45, of Myrtle Beach, died from injuries suffered in a crash that occurred at 3:15 a.m., according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden.
Pannell was killed after a motorcycle Pannell was driving ran off the Frontage Road, south of Farrow Parkway, struck a curb, and then hit a cable box.
Pannell was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and was killed, Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.
One passenger, who was also not wearing a helmet, was with the driver and was taken to a local hospital with injuries.
There was no information available on the passenger’s condition.
The SCHP is investigating the crash.
