Update: Georgetown County woman killed when car hits tree of northwest of Myrtle Beach

One woman died after crashing into a tree along U.S. 701 near Bucksport Marina, according to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Danecia Greene, 32, died at the scene of the crash from traumatic injuries, said Horry County Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard in a release.

The Georgetown County woman was operating an Infiniti SUV north on U.S. 701 when she veered off the road to the right and hit a tree near Marine Park Road, according to Butler. The crash happened at 5:43 a.m. on Saturday.

Horry County Fire Rescue responded to the incident.
