One person dead after driving car into a house in Longs area

One person died after crashing a car into a house in the Longs area early Saturday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The person was driving a 2001 Toyota Camry on S.C. Highway 90 just west of Pint Circle when they drove off the road, striking an unoccupied house and catching fire at approximately 5:20 a.m. The driver died as a result of the crash, SCHP Cpl. Sonny Collins said.

The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the person killed in the crash.
