Horry County Fire investigating early morning structure fire in Galivants Ferry

Horry County Fire Rescue is investigating a Galivants Ferry residential fire that was contained early Sunday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the scene, at 12947 Pee Dee Rd. S., just after 5 a.m., and the fire was under control as of 7 a.m. with no reported injuries.

HCFR spokesman Tony Casey did not immediately know whether anyone was displaced by the fire, but said a large portion of the house was completely destroyed.

The department’s investigative unit is on scene, which Casey said is standard protocol, and there’s no indication yet whether the fire is suspicious or not.
