The cause of a Wednesday morning house fire in North Myrtle Beach was due to electrical issues, and the home suffered about $25,000 in damage, according Chief Garry Spain with North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue.

Firefighters responded to the house fire just before 10 a.m. Wednesday on the 1100 block of Golfview Drive.

There were no injuries in connection with the incident, and no one was home at the time of the fire, Pat Dowling, spokesman with the North Myrtle Beach Department of Public Safety.

Spain said the fire started in a back bedroom in the home and that is where most of the damage is, but the whole house suffered smoke damage.

Golfview Drive was closed for about an hour Wednesday morning while rescue crews were on the scene, Dowling said.
